Going into the 12th league game of the season, Brookwood was taking on a familiar team in Pagé, marking the 4th time they are playing such team. As of late, different members of Brookwood have been stepping up in varies different ways, showing the growth as individuals and as a team. Such was the case with Pagé who came into this game with a much more improved overall team. Pagé was able to keep it close with Brookwood but never seemed to get over that hump. Brookwood never lost control but did have a strong defensive effort from major players off the bench. Brookwood came out with the win in the end, 59-50.
Leading Brookwood was Cyrus Senior with 16 points, shooting 4/8 from the 3 point line. Reynard Robinson not only scored 14 points, but also continued his strong defensive play of late. Returning to action after missing a few games, Daniel Fisher had a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 steals. He also had a thunderous block, while Abdul Kamane had 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Brookwood returns to action on February 20 against St. Bruno at Riverdale, 3:15pm. The game this weekend against Parc Ex is postponed and will be rescheduled for a later time.

Roller coaster week for Brookwood ends on a high
Brookwood went into the past week, ready for the most busy part of their schedule, battling through 3 games in a 5 day period. They started off their weekend with a rematch of the Express tournament final against Dawson. Brookwood seemed to have come out to play Friday night, starting the game with little compassion for the Dawson Blues. Brookwood was able to control the 1st quarter and lead it at the end by a 21-9 score. The rest of the game, was a complete flip of the first quarter. Brookwood lost its lead and although it showed some glimpses of wanting to play, they were outscored each qtr afterwards. Final score was 76-56 for Dawson. Brookwood's leading scorer was Cyrus Senior whose 4/6 3 point shooting helped him net 18 points. Jalen Rose added 10 points, while Reynard Robinson had 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Marshall Lobo chipped in with 7 points.
Making their way back home for a match on Sunday against DJ Sports, Brookwood was looking to get back into the Winning column against a team they previous beat prior to the holidays. Brookwood was able to stay neck and neck with DJ until half time before finally allowing DJ to build a big enough lead in the 4th qtr. DJ was able to out rebound Brookwood which was Brookwood's downfall, leading to their 2nd straight loss of the season, final score 71-57. Leading the team in scoring was Reynard Robinson who was on fire and flirted with a double-double, scoring 24pts and 9 rebounds. Cyrus Senior also was close to a double-double, scoring 11 and 8 rebounds. Kamal Spinsby showed his overall game by dropping 14 pts and adding 5 rebounds and 6 assists
Brookwood ended their busiest part of their schedule with a home weeknight game against Lasalle. After a pre-game speech from their coach and the surprise appearance of 2 missing players, Brookwood seemed rejuvenated and destined to win. First half was basically up and down, with Lasalle taking a 14 pt lead before Brookwood called a time out, which seemed to spark the team. Brookwood clawed their way back with intense defence and stellar 3 point shooting (8/10), taking the lead with a 1 second left alley oop lay up going into half. Brookwood didn't look back from that point, building off their defence, they were able to get a lot of steal and fast break points. Final score was close to the "100" point mark, falling short by 2, 98-79. Remarkably, their were many outstanding players in this game. Cyrus Senior lead the team with 20 points, 12 assists 7 steals and 5 rebounds, marking his first double-double of this season. Kamal Spinsby continued his fine play, also scoring 20 pts, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 5 assists. Reynard Robinson showed his drive for this sport by scoring 18pts with 4 rbs and 3 asts while Jalen Rose and Marshall Lobo were sparks off the bench, Jalen with 14 points and 9 rebs, almost a double-double and Marshall with 9 pts. Big man Elijah Jones had 8 points, all coming in the first half as he was a key factor in showing the weak spots in the Lasalle defence.
Brookwood gets back into action this weekend and continue their winning ways with yet another game against Page. The game is a home game and starts at 3:15. Hope to see you there
