Brookwood wins its 7th in amazing fashion

Brookwood went into its 8 league game of the year, not only looking to come out with a win, but to gain some perspective within themselves. short staffed again, Brookwood midget went into last Saturday's game with 8 players, 9 with a call up from Brookwood bantam, Rasheed Mills. The game versus Laval started out great, Rookie Daniel Cayer stepped to the plate and delivered 9 straight points off of a 3/3, 3 point shooting performance, finishing with 11 total points and 2 steals. Brookwood had a good first quarter, but the following 2nd and 3rd quarter were not some of the best played this season. Having to deal with fatigue and not to mention a very bias referee, Brookwood found themselves down much of the game. deciding to finally take control over there destiny, Brookwood stepped up their game and battled back in the 4th quarter on both sides of the court. Leading the way was Cyrus Senior who finished the game with not only 22 points and 5 steals, but the game winning steal and foul shot with 1 second left. Veteran Reynard Robinson showed leadership in the 4th quarter during their comeback and he finish with 12 points and 4 steals. Bantam call-up Rasheed Mills was able to chip in 8 points and a steal during this late run by Brookwood.
Brookwood is back in action with 3 games in the following week. Starting off Friday January 28th at 9pm, vs Dawson, at Dawson College. Sunday and Tuesday are both home games, Sunday against DJ Sports at 3:15 and Tuesday against Lasalle at 7:30pm

Brookwood starts 2011 with their first loss

Coming out of the holiday break, Brookwood was looking to continue their success by returning to their winning ways. Taking on Longueuil at home, which marks a long streak of home games coming up, Brookwood came out strong with a 8-0 run and looking like they had no rust from the break. Brookwood had to battle against the height and athleticism of Longueuil, which proved to be more difficult towards the end of the game. Going into half, Brookwood had a 9 point lead, 32-23. Longueuil was able to keep the score around that mark till the 4th quarter where they were able to chip away till the final seconds when they took a 2 point lead. With 4 seconds left, Brookwood was able to inbound the ball but not able to get a good look at the net with multiple tall defenders getting their hands up.
Brookwood's leading scorer Kamal Spinsby took control most of the game, scoring 18 points with an impressive 3/6, 50% from the 3 point line and coming away with 3 steals. Reynard Robinson had 15 points while Daniel Fisher had 10 points, 11 rebounds and an impressive 4 blocks.

Brookwood looks to shake off this loss and move on with their season. Their next game comes on Saturday,January 22, 2011 in Laval @ 3pm. Brookwood looks to get back into the winning column
